HDI Technical Support

HDI technical support personnel are available to assist staff with hardware and software issues:

Linkblue ID

All UK employees are assigned a Linkblue ID that is used to access many campus network resources as a “single Sign On” solution. New staff are required to sign into the UK Account Manager (UKAM) to activate the Linkblue account, setup password reset options, configure basic email delivery settings, and setup two-factor authentication. Once your account has been activated, you will have access to the UK Download site for software and the UK Office365 groupware portal. The UKAM can be accessed at https://office365.uky.edu.

Hardware and Equipment

As HDI staff, you will be provided with a laptop or desktop computer and a webcam. Technology staff will help you set up your workstation and get you connected to network printers and other resources. HDI maintains an inventory of equipment that can be used by projects as needed. This includes laptops, projectors, speakers, phone conferencing, and a variety of other equipment.

Software

UK provides Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other software downloads and licenses for staff via downloads at https://download.uky.edu.

Office 365

Office 365 is a Microsoft cloud-based groupware solution that HDI uses for email, document management, and collaboration. It consists of several programs that you will use often, including:

  • Outlook for email and meeting scheduling
  • Skype for Business for instant messaging, online meetings, and indicating presence
  • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reading, creating, editing documents
  • OneDrive for Business for file storage and sharing
  • SharePoint for document management and collaboration

ZOOM Videoconferencing

UK uses Zoom videoconferencing service for virtual group meetings and webinars. Log into Zoom using your Linkblue at https://uky.zoom.us.
